I. classification of pictorial ink:
Digital inkjet ink can be divided into water – based and solvent – based ink. According to the solvent, can be divided into water-based ink and non-water-based ink. The water-based ink is classified into pigment type by color material, dyestuff type, and heat sublimation ink; Non-aqueous ink can be divided into oil pigment ink, solvent-based ink. From a chemical point of view, oil is also one of the solvents.
We call it non – aqueous ink.
II. Advantages and disadvantages of various kinds of printing inks in the photo machine
1. Water-based dye ink:
The advantage lies in the bright color because it is made of water, which volatilizes water and does no harm to the environment. The disadvantage is that it is easy to fade and is generally only used indoors.
2. Pigment ink:
The advantage is good light resistance. The drawback is that the color is darker.
3. Water-based sublimation ink:
The advantage is that it can be transferred to different media, not just paper. Such as ceramics and glass. A lot of different media can be transferred; The disadvantage is that the operation is difficult and the price is high.
4. Oil soluble ink:
Because oil-soluble ink is made with pigment, the advantages of tasteless, good light resistance; The disadvantage is that it is expensive and must be printed on coated media.
5. Solvent ink:
As a pigment, the advantages are light resistance, good waterproof, and can be printed on any medium. The drawback is the oil base for the ink itself
All are flammable, dangerous goods, and strong smell, to the human body has certain harm.
III. The future trend forecast of the photo machine
1. The proportion of water-based dye ink in indoor use will be increased
Water-based pigment ink is needed for some new applications, such as digital printing, photo printing, and prepress printing, to use ink that is non-fading, light-resistant and can be saved
2. It’s expected to be a trend in the future.
Solvent pigment ink needs further standardization, specialization, and environmental protection
Some product specifications and safety indicators should be formulated. At present, solvent-based ink is working on these aspects. Some highly corrosive, strong solvent ink will be replaced in the future.
3. Oil-based pigment ink is limited to some special industries – such as the oil industry.
4. Environment-friendly ink is the direction of future efforts.
