What is sublimation printing in textiles?
In more technical terms, a sublimation printer is a computer printer which employs a printing process that uses heat to transfer dye onto medium materials such as a plastic card, paper, or fabric.
What is sublimation process?
Sublimation is a type of phase transition, or a change in a state of matter, just like melting, freezing, and evaporation. Through sublimation, a substance changes from a solid to a gas without ever passing through a liquid phase. Dry ice, solid CO2, provides a common example of sublimation.
What fabrics can be sublimated?
Man-made materials such as nylon, certain plastics, and polyester fabrics contain polymers that when heated, enable the bonding of ink. Dye-sublimation printing yields beautiful and permanent colors that are embedded in the substrate or fabric, rather than printed on the surface.
How much is sublimation printing?
Sublimation ink costs come in at less than $0.01 per square inch though it varies depending on the printer. For example, one model will average $0.007 per square inch, thus an 8″ x 10″ image would have an ink cost of $0.56.
WER-China has the sublimation printers in different print width: 1.6mts, 1.8mts, 2.5mts, and 3.2mts, welcome to contact us for more details.
